best budget sweatproofs i’ve owned

These are by far and away the best budget sweat-proofs that I’ve owned yet. These actually create a nice seal so sweat doesn’t get in my ears. I’ve been using them now for about a month and a half. I’ve ruined about a dozen different other ones all due to sweat shorting them out, but not these. They have 3 different sizes for the ear-bud covers which look like Hershey kisses with a small hole at the tips for the sound. I’ve never had a drop of sweat get inside them. I run for 6-10 miles at a time and hit the weights and love these things.

Perfect gym headphones, seriously.

If you are looking for headphones for the gym, buy these headphones. Period. They are also available at stores such as Target for around $20.00.

I read hundreds of reviews and have tried multiple pairs of headphones for the gym and many have come up short. Below are all of the criteria that cause people issues when it comes to finding ideal headphones for the gym. The Philips SHQ1000/28 In-Ear Headphones Tuned for Sports headphones are great in all of these areas:

Sound quality: Sound quality is very solid. I have Bose headphones ($100) for everyday use but didn’t want to continue to use them in the gym as they are not sweat resistant and are expensive. The Philips headphones don’t sound incredibly different, so that says a lot.

Bass: Pretty good level of bass.

Volume: I can keep my iPod at 50-75% volume in the gym and that is plenty on these headphones.

Cord length: Perfect for arm band (comes with a clip to hook it onto your shirt or armband which avoids having to wrap it around your armband and reduces tension on the connection) and certainly long enough to put your iPod in your pocket.

Sweat resistant: These are designed for the gym and for active use and are sweat resistant.

Durability: I can’t speak to the durability as I just bought them recently, but for $15-20 bucks, I would be happy to buy 2+ pairs a year even if they give out after 6 months.

Comfort: The earbuds and the rubber covers are the same shape as the Bose headphones and will absolutely stay in your ear and never move or fall out regardless of the exercise (running, lifting weights, jumping rope, etc.). Very comfortable and come in 3 sizes so ear size is not a concern.

In summary, these are these ideal gym headphones, are cheap, and you will not notice them throughout a long workout except for the fact that they sound great.

Great for running

I bought these at Best Buy when I was looking for Yurbuds. They have a similar rubbery, odd-shaped sleeve that goes over each earbud and holds the earbud in place when you run. I jogged with them this morning (about 3 miles) and they never fell out. I sweat alot and have had trouble with earbuds falling out, so these are just what I needed. I actually purchased the Yurbuds too and tried them both out at home (although I didn’t run in the Yurbuds). These sound better than the Yurbuds, the fit is almost as good, and they are $20 versus $50 for the Yurbuds. If you’re looking for affordable running earbuds, these are the ones.
