Good charger, but with significant drawback

Ok, let’s start with everything that is good with this charger – it has very high quality build, and from what i can see inside, it uses high quality electronic components. So i can assume it can output it’s listed current. Unfortunately, i wasn’t able to test it myself, and i will get to the core issue now. This charger DOES NOT CONFORM to USB charging spec. What this means, is that pin 2 and 3 are not connected. So any device designed for this spec (i.e. everything not Apple) will not recognize this as a charger and will only draw 0.5 amps max. For example, my HTC Desire can barely keep it’s battery charge level when running navigation software with GPS enabled.

Awesome charger!

Though I don’t have an iPad, I have a bunch of electronic devices that charge via USB and need that extra oomph! I was pretty stoked when I saw this one has a 1A port and a 2.1A port. I have tried standard dual USB chargers that work well for low power devices, and I also had a 1A charger for the more power hungry ones. Unfortunately, that one couldn’t handle my Axim, GPS receiver, and Zune at the same time. The Scosche handles that, and I’ll bet more, but I’d need a USB hub to find out. It even charged my Axim while charging my Zune from a totally spent state.

It also fits snugly in the AC source in my car unlike the last one I had that kept losing the connection and I had to wiggle it around hoping it wouldn’t get dislodged when I hit a bump. And also unlike the last one I had, the LED is bright even in sunlight so I can tell it’s working properly.

I would buy another one of these in a heartbeat.

Nice little zipper case for my Garmin.

Nice little case for the price. It holds my Garmin 265WT very nicely with its snap-on swivel adapter still attached. The exterior vinyl case is very stiff to mitigate the potential of crushing damage to the GPS. The interior of the case is lined with fabric to minimize scratching damage. The case zipper works fine. And it comes with a little carry strap too. Again, very nice for the price.

The EVA case is a perfect fit for my nüvi 765T even though the product title says it’s for the nüvi 265WT, 1300, 1350, and 1370T. The hard exterior provides very good protection for my nüvi. Its interior is lined with a velvety fabric that won’t scratch the nüvi.

POSITIVE: Cuts the SIM perfectly. The trick is to press down quickly with lots of force. If you do it slowly, you might be left with edges that need filing.

Works great, but do your homework first

I bought this cutter after much research on the internet and was pleased with it. I live overseas, travel to the US and Europe several times a year and have pay-as-you-go sim cards when traveling from local service providers which I used with my old standard cell phone. I got an iphone and wanted to use that with all of them so I needed to cut several sim cards. This cut them all easily and quickly and they all work just fine.

HOWEVER – be aware that although it cuts a micro sim perfectly, IF the sim card you are going to cut has a larger ‘contact’ base (the gold panel on the back of the card) that exceeds the micro sim cutting size, AND you cut that, you will damage your card. So make sure you have a newer sim card with the smaller contact base on the back.

Buy this for the SIM cutter, not the adapters

I was a little hesitant to chop my SIM card up, but the Noosy works flawlessly. The SIM adapters on the other hand are of questionable quality. They are flimsy and therefore very difficult to insert into most sim card slots. Just trying to get the micro SIM card to fit into one of the adapters is difficult (the plastic is very flimsy). Having said all that, I purchased this along with a better SIM card adapter that I found on Amazon and I am very pleased with the results.

I disagree with the above reviewer in that you CAN use this while it’s charging. It’s possible that that person was unable to get a strong enough signal to operate it or perhaps another issue, but NO, it does not go into PC mode. Otherwise, having this charger is convenient when you want to take your GPS on the go with you & it needs some juice but you don’t have enough time to do this in the car. Or you’re traveling and you don’t want to deal with leaving your charger in the car. It’s very inexpensive & you don’t need to buy any other bells and whistles to charge your GPS. By the way, mine’s a Garmin Nuvi 255w.

Not quite what I was expecting

This item was listed as a Garmin branded charger, and I was expecting an exact replacement for the AC charger that came with my Nuvi 350. This is an off branded charger. The cord is a bit shorter than the original, the usb plug that goes into the unit on the original as offset 90 degrees, this one is straight, and the output of this is slightly lower than the OEM product.

It still works, but the shortened cord is limiting. Price was good, and shipping was relatively fast.

It is completely wrong statement: “The chip prevents the GPS unit from going into “PC” mode so you can use your GPS while it charges.”
Nuvi 750 acts exactly the same way as it connected to USB port. You CANNOT use it due charging process.

Great protection but doesn’t last

I got this case from the AT&T store when I got my iPhone 4 in Sept 2010 without the stylus. As far as protection goes, you can’t beat this case! I knock it off furniture almost daily, I’ve dropped it on pavement multiple times and my phone still looks as good as new. If you are looking for an economical and pretty case to protect your phone this is the case for you.

However, I do have some key problems with the case. It does not allow for access to ports with third party equipment such as chargers and headphones so you have to take the case off to use them. Taking the case off and putting it back on strains the pink rubber portion around the screen and it starts to separate after a few times of doing this. This leaves the blue portion weakened and the bottom around the charging/docking port of my case has snapped during removal of the phone. The cut out for the camera also has a crack leading to the pink rubber corner, also from removal of the case.

All in all, I’ll probably get another one since it’s inexpensive does protect the phone so well and that’s what I need it to do. But, if you’re looking for something that will last more than a year you may want to look elsewhere.

Beautiful case, but marks and scratches easily

The rubberized parts of this phone discolored very quickly, in just a few days after purchase. The plastic part scratches very easily. I am not hard on my phone at all, it’s either on my desk all day, or in my purse pocket. It’s too bad, I love the colors that speck offers.

When I purchased this case, I was dazzled by the hot pink and bright blue colors. However, the pink edge quickly discolored to a dirty looking, dull tone. I also find I cannot insert a standard phone jack because the plastic around the jack insertion is too thick.
All and all not impressed.

Wrong product, doesn’t work for Evo

Despite a sticker on the charger, this does not work for the Evo. The pins do not line up correctly. Others have reported the same problem for this product.

Unfortunately, the choice now is to go through the hassle of returning a $4 item, or just ordering a new one.

a bright case for a mucky world;)

i recently purchased this case as well as a blue cover for my brother. I must say that I am quite happy with this product with the exception of a few flaws.

pro:
well built,
strong and durable,
bright,
the tab legs (brings computer to a nice comfortable angle for typing),
does not block any ports,
Protect the mac very well (banged the computer against a wall and there were no scratches or scuffs on the case nor any affect on my mac),
vents on the bottom help cool down the computer
silicon padded footing prevents computer from slipping around;)

con: there is a little air pocket on the top cover which does bother me, but it’s very trivial. Colour is more fluorescent than intended;) I was expecting a blood orange-ish colour, but it came bright neon orange ( i still like it though), Blue was exceptionally beautiful.
The case is on so tight and those tabs that hold the case on the mac are soo tough, that I can’t figure out how to take off the cover @.@ maybe i’m just too weak.

overall, if you love BRIGHT NEON, then this is for you. If you don’t, the Blue is very rich and dark. Both are highly recommended and are at a great price.
They also come with keyboard gel covers which clean the keyboard nicely:)

The X-mini series of speakers are designed for ultra portability. The Max 2 is the top of the line in the X-mini line up.

The X-mini Max 2 is staged in an egg like shape when you introductory greet it. A button would have been much better and more comfortable to access but perhaps could be knocked easier. On the back of each speaker there is an audio jack input which outputs audio likewise I will get into this very clever stuff later on.

On the opposing side to the switch there is a mini USB port for charging and it is also competent of inputting and outputting audio. To get more sound out of the speakers you just twist the unit and up it pops permitting much more sound to be outputted, this element of design allows the speakers to be tiny when traveling. The actual speakers face upwards on top and blend in with the rest of the device which is fantastic. Overall the design has had a lot of trouble and thought put into it.

To hook the X-mini Max 2 up with a device you will need to use the cables provided in the box which have two mini USB ports for linking both speakers up and you have an audio jack for plugging into your device of choice plus they likewise include a usual USB cable with this huge grape vine of cables to charge them both. In theory you could link thousands X-mini speakers which is very very cool if you have friends and family who have one they may get in on the act. To link them up you plainly connect the speakers either using a USB mini cable or an audio jack. It doesn’t seem to matter how you link them because the X-mini’s just sort themselves out. So you could attach a mini USB to one speaker and on the end of that cable there could be an audio jack and it just works.

The actual sound quality is great and is a great deal for portability. The bass is missing out a little from it is younger brother the ‘X-mini 2′ which has a lot more bass. I am now totally conscious from doing a heap of speaker reviews of this nature in the past that galore of you don’t actually like the bass sound and galore of you are like me and love the bass sound with music. Music doesn’t play as if it is flat it is the finish opposite, music has a lot life when it’s coming out of these. Music is crazy earsplitting and it is stereo which is another plus but the bass is still missing out a little.

Overall it comes down to what you like in your speakers for anybody who travels a lot these might be for you. The audio is piercing and at a outstanding quality and the design is fantastic plus it comes with a carry pouch. It does lack bass and the cable management is a nightmare but for $39.99 it seems very good value. Wait for the X-mini 2 review because a great deal of of you may prefer that due to it is very very low price.

Cutest little speaker you’ll be likely to see

My wife and I had been on a recent trip to the tropics and a few days it rained to the point that we really couldn’t be outside much. Stuck in our room, we turned to my iPhone. I had loaded up some comedy CDs from iTunes prior to our trip. If we laid quitely on the bed we could listen to the iPhone, and it was OK, but about what you’d expect. Weak volume, tinny, etc. When we got home I thought I’d research to see if there were very light, easy to transport speakers. Being a fairly light packer I wanted my solution to be very small and light.

Loving it!

I just received this speaker and I love it! The color is great.Size wise the speaker is about half the size of a tennis ball, expanding it makes it a bit larger.Build quality is very nice.Sound quality is excellent for it’s size, really it’s quite amazing.It’s loud and without sounding tinny or distorted.I use it with my DSlite, DSiXL, netbook and my Ipod Nano.Battery life is amazing!

My only minor quibble is that the cord is really short ( look at the customer submitted photos on the Black X-Mini II speaker) Also , you must remember to turn it off after use.

Overall, this is one of those rare items that you will love instantly.A nice treat for yourself.

Ive now had this about 8 months and use it daily and it still works great!
